Coachella organizers had to cancel a VIP dinner last night because of bad weather at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.
“Unfortunately, due to the very high wind warnings for this evening, we are going to be forced to cancel ‘The Night Before’ dinner,” read an email sent to invitees of the exclusive dinner by Coachella founder Paul Tollett and Gary Gersh, AEG Presents President of Global Talent.
“The great news is the weather looks to be spectacular this weekend! We’ll see you all out there and hope everyone has a great Coachella ‘18!” the letter says.
The high-end dinner party was to be prepared by Chef Ricardo Zarate from West Hollywood’s Rosaline with wines prepared by Hayden Wine Bar and cocktails from Broken Shaker.
The region was hit by a low pressure system moving across Southern California, according to the National Weather Service, punctuated by 60 mph wind gusts.
The weather is expected to improve today with skies and temperatures in the mid 80s, with temperatures 81 to 86 on Friday, 86 to 91 on Saturday and Sunday.
