AEG Presents announced on Monday (Feb. 25) the hire of Nick Spampanato as senior vice president of venue operations. Spampanato heads to the Los Angeles-based AEG Presents after most recently serving as svp and general manager of the Forum arena in Inglewood, California.
“We are extremely pleased to have Nick join our growing team,” said Shawn Trell, AEG Presents’ chief operating officer, in a release. “His experience and track record of running and managing venues as well as event production speaks for itself and we look forward to having Nick bring his skill set to bear on our owned and operated clubs and theaters.”
Spampanato brings over 25 years of industry experience in venue management and will have oversight over the operations of AEG Presents’ venues and their respective general managers. The industry veteran will also transition new venue acquisitions and provide support in new venue opportunities and development. Spampanato will report to Trell.
“I am excited about this next chapter in my career and working with Shawn and the rest of the AEG team. AEG has an impressive portfolio of venues that continues to grow,” said Spampanato in a release. “I look forward to working with the General Managers at AEG Presents to provide the best experiences for all of our guests and clients.”
Prior to working at The Forum, Spampanato served as the general manager of the legendary Beacon Theatre in New York City. He has also served as the general manager of two California venues, the Hollywood Palladium and The Wiltern, in 2008 and 2009, respectively. In addition, Spampanato managed the backstage operations for the Gibson Amphitheatre, formerly known as the Universal Amphitheatre, for 14 years, beginning in 1992.
