APA President and CEO Jim Gosnell has announced Jim Osborne as the new head of talent. APA’s Barry McPherson will continue to lead the agency’s New York talent department.
“Jim Osborne’s devotion to the success of our clients and this company cannot be understated,” said Gosnell in a statement. “His extraordinary work and dedication over the past seven years have played a pivotal role in the success of our talent department, and I’m very proud to have him lead our team into the future.”
Osborne was promoted to co-head of talent in June alongside Ryan Martin. Martin, who led the department since 2006, will exit the company when his contract expires at the end of the year.
Osborne got his start in the industry in the ICM mailroom before becoming an assistant to Ed Limato. He moved to APA in 2011 and was named a partner in 2015.
Amongst his many clients, Osborne represents actor Gary Oldman, as well as his Flying Studios producing partner Douglas Urbanski, and singer-actor Mary J. Blige, who stars in the upcoming Netflix/UCP series Umbrella Academy and the Paramount feature Body Cam. Osborne also works with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who recently closed a groundbreaking overall/production deal with Starz; MacGyver star Lucas Till; rapper-actor T.I., who co-stars in the upcoming Netflix feature Dolomite Is My Name; Tyrese Gibson; and Cole Hauser.
