Bandsintown has announced two new international partnerships in Japan and France. The concert discovery platform has expanded its international reach by teaming up with leading ticketing companies Lawson Ticket and Ticket Pia in Japan and French media group NRJ.
“Fans in over 200 countries around the world trust Bandsintown to discover concerts and new artists,” said Fabrice Sergent, Bandsintown Managing Partner in a release. “With 65% of our users in North America, we see huge potential in partnering with these local media players in key live music markets like France and Japan, and together we look forward to promoting local concert discovery on a global scale.”
In Japan, Bandsintown will work with Lawson Ticket and Ticket Pia to help international artists better reach and connect with local concert-goers and music fans. Live events in Japan have doubled since 2007 and ticket sales have doubled in the country. With over 30,000 live events per year, the Japanese market represents about $3 billion.
These partnerships will make it easier for fans to discover more artists, both domestically and internationally, with an entirely localized version of the Bandsintown Concerts App. Bandsintown has also localized its artist tools to help artists better connect with their fans and grow their audience.
Bandsintown has also partnered with NRJ Global in France, a premier music TV/radio network, and major concert partner. The app intends to grow it’s 1.1 Million install-base in France, and support always more artists on its platform which is already used by 20,000 artists in France to cater to similar audiences of highly engaged music fans with NRJ.
In this first step of the partnership, NRJ Global will be able to offer Bandsintown’s marketing solutions and reach to French brands, media agencies, and concert promoters. Bandsintown and NRJ intend to further collaborate on joint opportunities such as live music events, editorial, and new artists promotion.
