Sebastian Maniscalco wrapped his historic four-show run at Madison Square Garden this weekend, playing four shows in the round for the packed arena, selling the most tickets sold in a weekend for any comedy engagement in the history of the Garden.

Not bad for a guy who started building his audience on the East Coast at the Gotham Comedy Club in Chelsea. In April, Maniscalco played five sold-out shows at Radio City Music Hall and has now performed for more than 100,000 fans in New York City in less than one year.

“Early on in my career I felt a connection with the audience in this region because so many people in New York/New Jersey/Philadelphia related to my family and upbringing,” Maniscalco explained in a statement. “From my early days playing Gotham Comedy Club, to our shows at the Beacon and Radio City, and now having the first one down at The Garden, I always feel at home on stage in New York City thanks to the crowd.”

MSG Live e.v.p. Darren Pfeffer said the four-show run put Maniscalco “in the ranks of Andrew Dice Clay, Kevin Hart, Amy Schumer, Chris Rock” who have all sold out MSG, and in the lead up to the four-run gig, Maniscalco made appearances on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show, the Today Show and Good Morning America. The night before the MSG run, Maniscalco appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” where he asked Fallon to show a clip from his first appearance on the show when he froze mid-stand-up set.

“Look, everybody’s perfect on Facebook and Instagram,” Maniscalco joked “and I’m telling you right now, that was one of the scariest moments of my career – but hey, those things happen in life and you just pick yourself up… and look, he invited me back.”

Maniscalco’s newest comedy special Stay Hungry, which he taped at Radio City, is now streaming on Netflix and he can be seen with Viggo Mortensen in Green Book, nominated for five Oscars including Best Picture. In November, Maniscalco won’s Billboard’s inaugural Comedian of the Year honor at the Live Music Summit in Beverly Hills and will be staring in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film The Irishman.

Maniscalco’s Stay Hungry Tour will continue through May 18, 2019 with over 30 stops across the U.S. Click here to learn more.
