SMG has named Kelvin Moore as General Manager for the 2 million-square-foot Pennsylvania Convention Center. Moore most recently served as SMG’s regional general manager for Festival Hall at Navy Pier in Chicago.
“Kelvin brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on industry experience and we are thrilled to have him on board and overseeing SMG’s operations of our facility,” Attorney Gregory J. Fox, chairman of the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority told the Philadelphia Tribune.
SMG has managed the Philadelphia facility since 2013, implementing hospitality industry expertise to PCC’s existing staff and installong new sustainability goals.
“The Center’s Board of Directors is committed to ensuring that we are constantly working to improve how we operate so that we deliver the best customer experience. Kelvin will help to further that goal,” Fox added.
Moore has more than 25 years of experience in the venue industry, having served as SMG’s general manager at the Lynwood Convention Center and the Jackson Convention Complex. His career began with Busch Entertainment Corp. in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas.
“The Pennsylvania Convention Center is one of our signature facilities and we are pleased that one of SMG’s leading executives has agreed to oversee the day-to-day management of the building and our staff,” Bob McClintock, senior vice president – Convention Centers for SMG told the Tribune. “Kelvin has demonstrated exceptional leadership at SMG’s key facilities and understands the importance of delivering optimal customer experiences.”
