Tommy Chong slams Bernie Sanders Campaign for Rally Snub
Tommy Chong is angry at the Bernie Sanders campaign after the comedian was snubbed Monday from speaking at a Los Angeles rally. The actor and marijuana activist told The Hollywood Reporter that the Sanders campaign was happy to have his endorsement, but got “cold feet” when it came time to embrace his pro-legalization stance. In a email to THR, a Sanders spokesman said, “We appreciate his support but a scheduling issue came up.”
Live Nation To Open Third Venue at AvidXchange Music Factory
Charlotte’s former Bootlegger’s Saloon and Dance Hall will soon house Live Nation Entertainment’s third live-music venue in the AvidXchange Music Factory district. That 12,000-square-foot building is being converted to accommodate an 800-seat concert hall, called Fillmore Underground. The venue is expected to open in July. Live Nation also operates the 5,000-seat Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre and the 2,000-seat Fillmore Charlotte at the site. Tech company AvidXchange purchased the naming rights to the Music Factory in March and moved its headquarters to the site.
