Bill Maher Heads to The Ryman
Comedian and “Real Time” host Bill Maher is set to perform at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on August 20. He last performed in Nashville in 2014 at Tennessee Performing Art Center’s Jackson Hall. “Hmm. Do you suppose Bill Maher will have anything to say about the current political climate in America when he performs in Nashville this summer?” The Tennessean reporter Dave Paulson quips. Tigers “Extremely Frustrated” With Eviction From Canalta Centre
The Medicine Hat Tigers were told they would have to vacate their home at Canalta Centre if a lease agreement with venue operator SMG isn’t in place byApril 7. Medicine Hat Mayor Ted Clugston told Medicine Hat News that the city council is on board with the eviction and that “[t]he city and SMG have been very patient waiting an entire hockey season and now it’s time to make a move.” In a release, the Tigers allege that an agreement was reached in June 2015 and they signed a finalized contract on March 24, but “the City of Medicine Hat and SMG have been continually looking to claw back what was originally agreed upon.”
Naming Rights for Oakland Alameda Coliseum Available
Formerly known as O.co Coliseum, the home of the Raiders and the A’s is now just Oakland Alameda Stadium for now. On Saturday, the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority said that Overstock.com ended its five-year sponsorship of the venue and that naming rights are up for grabs. As the only venue in the US that hosts major MLB and NFL events, OACCA Executive Director Scott McKibben said sponsoring the stadium is a “unique opportunity to the sports marketing marketplace.”
