Blues Foundation Announces Dates for Hall Of Fame Induction and 37th Blues Music Awards
The Blues Foundation announced that it will induct five artists into the Blues Hall of Fame on May 4. The inductees, Elvin Bishop, Eddy Clearwater, Jimmy Johnson, John Mayall, Memphis Jug Bank and Malaco Records’ Tommy Couch Sr. and Wolf Stephenson were elected by blues scholars and industry vets for the honor. The 37th Blues Music Awards will take place on May 5 at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis following the Hall of Fame induction. For attendance information and a complete list of nominations here.
NBA Fans Doling Out $1,000 to See Kobe Play his Last Game in LA
The most expensive game of the NBA season will be Kobe Bryant’s final game at Staples Center against the Jazz. ESPN reported that fans have paid “a StubHub average” of $997 for a ticket to Wednesday’s Lakers vs. Jazz game at Staples Center. According to ESPN, the price is “a regular-season record average for any sport.” Coming up to a not-so-close second are tickets for the Grizzlies-Warriors game, for which fans paid $436 on average.
Janet Jackson’s “Unbreakable” Tour Postponed to 2017, Refunds Available
Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable World Tour has officially been postponed until 2017 following the announcement that Jackson and her husband will be delaying the tour to plan a family. A Live Nation rep told US Weekly that “[n]ew dates will be announced at a later time, and tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Refunds are also available at the point of purchase.”
