JOE GIORDANO NAMED NEW AGM OF BOK CENTER

BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma has named Joe Giordano (pictured above) as its new assistant general manager.  Giordano most recently served as Director of Booking for BOK Center since 2016. As AGM, Giordano will oversee all arena business operations relating to booking, event marketing, business development, event management, customer service, media relations, project management, premium seating and employee development. “Joe plays a crucial role in helping BOK Center maintain its track record of success on a national stage,” said BOK Center GM Casey Sparks in a release. “His knowledge and passion in venue management will be a strong asset to the accomplished team in Tulsa.”


UK INDIE DUO HER’S KILLED IN CRASH FOLLOWING PHOENIX SHOW

Members of the British indie band Her’s were killed hours after performing at the Rebel Lounge in Phoenix after their car was involved in a deadly wrong-way crash on I-10 in Centennial, Arizona. Record label Heist or Hit said in a statement that Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading, of Liverpool, died alongside their tour manager Trevor Engelbrektson of Minnesota. A small memorial was created at the Rebel Lounge to honor the three men. “Our deepest condolences go out to all their families and friends and everyone else who believed in them,” the venue said in a statement.

Industry giants Live Nation and AEG have both scored 100 percent on Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index. Live Nation marks its second year with a perfect score on the rankings that determine non-discrimination policies, employment benefits, responsible citizenship and supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility including public commitment to LGBTQ equality. AEG made its debut on the list this year after with a perfect score and joined other music entities such as Nielsen, Spotify, Caesars Entertainment Group and MGM Resorts International.
