ALL AGES CLUB DROPS TICKETFLY BECAUSE OF HACK ATTACK

The Chain Reaction all ages club in Anaheim, California has ended its relationship with Ticketfly due to the company’s response to the May 31 “cyber incident” that took down large swathes of the internet infrastructure powering the indie music. Chain Reaction is now using the Etix platform following a drop off in sales and reduced consumer confidence as a result of the attack.

MMA FIGHTER FILES SUITS AGAINST UFC’S CONOR MCGREGOR

MMA fighter Michael Chiesa is suing UFC star Conor McGregor for throwing a dolly at a bus carrying several fighters and passengers in Brooklyn in April. Chiesa filed a lawsuit against McGregor, McGregor Sports and Entertainment, Barclays Center, McGregor’s cohorts and others Monday in New York State Supreme Court, Kings County. TMZ was the first to report the news. Among the claims made in the suit are negligence, negligent infliction of emotional distress, assault and battery. Chiesa was left bloody from the incident and had to withdraw from his UFC 223 fight against Anthony Pettis, which was scheduled for two days later at Barclays. McGregor was arrested and later pled guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct in July.


LIVE NATION SEEKING ZERO WASTE IN AMPHITHEATERS FOR 2020

By 2020, Live Nation is seeking to achieve zero waste in 20 of its amphitheaters throughout the U.S. The industry giant has also hired seasonal position of venue sustainability coordinator at 14 venues. A new zero waste e-learning course that has also been made available to all employees. Live Nation initially launched a pilot program at six venues, coming to the conclusion that the program’s success was amplified by having a dedicated staff person at the venue who would be accountable for coordinating sustainability efforts. The new venue sustainability coordinators’ responsibilities include working with concessions partners and sub-vendors to ensure all foodservice ware is either reusable, compostable or recyclable and assisting with training venue staff in enhanced post-show waste sorting protocols, according to Waste360.
