FOURTH ANNUAL BOWL FOR RONNIE BENEFIT ANNOUNCED

The fourth annual Bowl for Ronnie Celebrity Bowling Party, benefiting the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, has been announced for Oct. 25 in Studio City, California. The event will be held at PINZ Bowling Center and hosted by television and radio personality Eddie Trunk, who is heard on SiriusXM’s Volume channel. This year’s event will feature the bowling tournament and a raffle drawing for prizes and memorabilia. Last year’s event brought in $49,000 for the cancer charity, which is now in its ninth year of raising awareness and much-needed funding for cancer research. Previous Bowl for Ronnie events events have brought together entertainers and artists such as Tom Morello (Prophets Of Rage & Rage Against The Machine), Sebastian Bach, and Richie Sambora.

MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION CENTER NAMES NEW GM

Spectra has announced that Freddie Peterson as its new General Manager for Miami Beach Convention Center. Peterson will take the helm in Miami Beach to oversee day-to-day operations at one of the largest convention centers in the world that is at the tail-end of a $620 million renovation and expansion. Peterson previously spent two decades leading Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) and for the last two and a half years as the contract administrator for the MassMutual Center and the Greater Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau and its Sports Commission.


AEROSMITH ANNOUNCES LAS VEGAS RESIDENCY

Rock band Aerosmith has announced that they will be the latest big act to take up residency in Sin City. The band will play 18 shows at the Park Theater at Park MGM. The announcement follows Lady Gaga’s residency in the same theater prior to Aerosmith. “Aerosmith: Deuces are Wild” will kick off next year on April 26 with additional shows in June and July. Tickets range from $75 to $750 and go on sale Aug. 24. Aerosmith has teamed up with THX and L-Acoustics for their upcoming residency at Park Theater to deliver the world’s first THX Certified live performance presented in L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal Sound.
