GEORGE STRAIT TO HEADLINE RARE STADIUM SHOW IN ATLANTA
Country superstar George Strait has announced a rare stadium show in Atlanta in 2019. Strait will headline Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on March 30 with support from Chris Stapleton, singer Chris Janson and songwriter Ashley McBryde. This will be Strait’s first performance in Atlanta since he quit extensive touring in 2014 after his farewell Cowboy Rides Away Tour. Tickets for Strait’s special Atlanta appearance will go on sale Nov. 16 at 10am ET via Ticketmaster.
WALMART AMP TO GET $13.9 MILLION EXPANSION
Walmart Amp in Arkansas has announced a $13.9 million expansion for the outdoor amphitheater. The expansion will include new Procter & Gamble Box Office with more service windows, an expanded main entry plaza twice as large as the current plaza, a new covered plaza at the top of the lawn, which adds 15,000 square feet of flexible viewing and event space as well as private restrooms, new tiered seating at the front of the General Mills Lawn and more. The expansion will begin with a new five-year contract with Live Nation and see the venue capacity jump from 1,000 to 11,000 by 2020.
NORTH ISLAND CREDIT UNION SCORES NAMING RIGHTS FOR SAN DIEGO AMPHITHEATER
North Island Credit Union has signed an agreement with Live Nation to become the new name-in-title sponsor of the San Diego amphitheater, formerly known as Mattress Firm Amphitheatre. The venue will now be known as North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre, located in Chula Vista, California. The benefits of this partnership will be brought directly to North Island Credit Union members with a dedicated member entrance, discounted ticket pricing, and promotions for tickets and exclusive fan experiences throughout the year. North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre is a 20,000 capacity amphitheatre owned and operated by Live Nation. Opening its doors in 1998, the amphitheater is the first and largest venue of its kind in the San Diego area.
