James Gatens Passed Away
Industry legend James Gatens passed away suddenly last Monday as the result of a heart attack. The Hell’s Kitchen native had a 30-year tenure at the Head Treasurer of Time Square’s TKTS booth and was a 50-year member of Local 751, The Treasurers and Ticket Sellers Union. Services were held last weekend in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Encore Community Services, 239 W. 49th St., New York, NY 10019. Charitybuzz Hosts 10th Annual Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Spring Auction
On Friday, the 10th Annual Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Spring Auction went live on Charitybuzz.com, a premier online charity auction platform. Melanie Quick Exits North Charleston Performing Arts Center
Melanie Quick is leaving the SMG-managed North Charleston Performing Arts Center where she had served as Marketing Manager. The South Carolina native is taking a job at Motivated Marketing, a Charleston agency. While the move allows her more time to spend with her family and husband Andy Quick, she said she’s “sad to be leaving the industry I have loved so dearly.” Best of luck Melanie!
