LIVE NATION ACQUIRES MAJORITY STAKE IN EMBRACE PRESENTS

Live Nation has acquired a majority stake in Canadian promoter Embrace Presents. The Toronto-based company produces hundreds of shows a year and owns and operates fives venues, including the iconic Danforth Music Hall in Canada. Among the shows, tours and festivals Embrace has produced are the Mad Decent Block Party, Bestival, TIME Festival, Skrillex’s Full Flex Express and Electric Island, working with thousands of acts such as Leon Bridges, Mac Demarco, Chance The Rapper, Lorde, Chvrches and Maggie Rogers. Embrace was founded in 2001 by Adam Gill with Geoff Bruce joining in 2008 to develop the company’s venue portfolio.


TYSON EVENTS CENTER AND ORPHEUM THEATRE ANNOUNCE NEW GM

Spectra has announced the hiring of Tim Savona as the new general manager for the Tyson Events Center and Orpheum Theatre in Iowa. Savano started his career with Spectra in 2009 at the Iowa Events Center. During his time in Des Moines he served as an event manager and director of corporate partnerships. Since then he has served in a variety of leadership roles, joining the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado as the assistant general manager and director of events and most recently as the general manager with Spectra at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho.


FAIR PARK FIRST AND SPECTRA NAME NEW GM FOR FAIR PARK

Fair Park First and Spectra have named Peter Sullivan the general manager of the 277-acre Fair Park in Texas. Sullivan, who has over 35 years of experience in the sports and venue management industry, specializes in transitioning oversight of large and complicated properties. Sullivan spent the last three-plus years managing Singapore Sports Hub, a large multi-venue sports and entertainment complex in Southeast Asia, which includes the 55,000-seat National Stadium, 10,000-seat Singapore Indoor Stadium, and a number of recreational, cultural, and multipurpose venues. Prior to Singapore, Sullivan was a regional vice president with Spectra and managed University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
