SCOTT ZIMMERMAN LEAVES AEG FACILITIES FOR OVG

PPG Paints Arena’s Director of Booking Scott Zimmerman has announced that he will be leaving the facility Jan. 4. Zimmerman will step away from his role with AEG Facilities which runs the Pittsburgh arena and will join Tim Leiweke’s Oak View Group Facilities as of Jan. 7. Next week, Zimmerman will take over as general manager of the UPMC Events Center at Robert Morris University located in Pittsburgh. “I have developed lifelong professional and personal relationships that I will continue to treasure throughout my career. I feel privileged to have been part a great team and organization and will miss my colleagues dearly,” Zimmerman said in an email announcing the new position.


SMG NAMES JAMEY HINES NATIONAL DIRECTOR OF PROMOTIONS

Jim McCue, SMG SVP of Live Entertainment announced today the appointment of Jamey Hines as the new national director, SMG Promotions. In his new role, Hines will assist the SMG Entertainment Team with generating more offers and events for SMG-managed facilities. Prior to joining the SMG Entertainment Team, Hines was the GM of the Sands Bethlehem Event Center in Bethlehem, PA where he served in that role since 2016. At the Sands, he promoted events such as Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Don Henley, Diana Ross and Steven Tyler.


BRITNEY SPEARS PUTS VEGAS RESIDENCY ON INDEFINITE HIATUS

Today (Jan. 4), Britney Spears announced that she will be putting her new Las Vegas residency at MGM on indefinite hiatus. Spears took to social media to say that she will not be performing Britney: Domination because she would like to care for her ailing father who was rushed to the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas two months ago after his colon spontaneously ruptured. He spent 28 dates in the hospital following the surgery. “I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart … I appreciate your prayers and support for my family during this time. Thank you, and love you all… always,” Spears wrote on social media.
