SPECTRA NAMES ALLISON DOBIN DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AT CFE ARENA
Spectra has announced Allison Dobin as their new director of marketing for CFE Arena at the University of Central Florida. Dobin has been with Spectra for 10 years and will be relocating to Orlando from the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. She replaces Julian Bowman, who relocated to Fair Park in Dallas, Texas to take a senior director of marketing position within Spectra. As director of marketing, Dobin will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day marketing and advertising initiatives of CFE Arena, including media buying, promotions, public relations, social media, and grassroots efforts for both the venue and its events. “Allison is a seasoned marketing professional with particular experience focused in Florida and we’re excited for what she brings to our Spectra team,” said Spectra’s Joe Imbriaco, GM of CFE Arena in a release.
LINDA DECKARD & GLEN MIKKELSEN TO RECEIVE TOP HONORS AT EAMC
The Event & Arena Marketing Conference will honor Linda Deckard (pictured above) with its 2019 Gigi Award and Glen Mikkelsen (pictured left) as the 2019 Hall of Fame inductee. Deckard is a pioneer in the facilities and live entertainment media space, creating Venues Today after a 30-year run as a reporter and editor at Amusement Business. After selling Venues Today to Oak View Group in 2016, Deckard left to pursue her new passion as a publisher — her first book is a biography on Barbara Hubbard of American Collegiate Talent Showcase, and she launched a new industry blog BasedOnTruth.com. Mikkelsen is the manager of the CN Centre in Prince George, B.C and is the author of two books including “Never Holler Whoa! – The Cowboys of Chuckwagon Racing” and authors The Quirks for IAVM’s Facility Manager magazine. EMINEM’S RAPTURE TOUR TOPS 300,000 FANS IN AUS + NEW ZEALAND
TEG Dainty has confirmed that 304,016 fans attended Eminem’s Rapture 2019 tour of Australia and New Zealand, making it the largest of the artist’s four Australian and New Zealand tours since 2001. The Rapture 2019 tour set new all-time venue concert attendance records at the MCG Melbourne (80,708) and Wellington Stadium, New Zealand (46,474). All five shows on the 2019 tour were sold out. “Eminem is one of the greatest showmen in the world with a fiercely loyal fan base that continues to grow with each tour,” TEG Dainty Promoter and President Paul Dainty said in a release. “He is no stranger to selling out stadium shows but he is continuing to break attendance records across both New Zealand and Australia, which is just phenomenal.”
