MLB’S ANGELS OPT OUT OF LEASE FOR ANGELS STADIUM IN ANAHEIM
Major League Baseball’s Anaheim Angels have opted out of their lease with Angels Stadium. The team has explored options for a new location and looked in neighboring cities such as Los Angeles, Carson and Irvine. The team honed in on Tustin, but a new 37,000-seat stadium would cost about $700 million which the city of Tustin said it would not use taxpayer funds to build. “As we look to the future, we need the ability to continue to deliver a high-quality fan experience beyond what the original lease allows,” Angels president John Carpino said in a statement. “It is important that we look at all our options and how we can best serve our fans now and in the future.”
