WWE WILL CENTRALIZE ITS HEADQUARTERS BY 2021
World Wrestling Entertainment has announced that it will centralize its headquarters by 2021 to a new complex in Stamford, Connecticut. The company explains that the move will consolidate its production and corporation offices onto the same site. WWE will lease the space for an initial 16.5 years with five five-year renewal options. It expects to sell its owned and operated facility at 1241 E. Main St., exit leased spaces at 1266 E. Main St., and evaluate operations for studio facilities at 88 and 120 Hamilton Ave.
JOHN BOLTON NAMED IEBA’S PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD 2020
International Entertainment Buyers Association has selected SMG’s John Bolton for their 2020 president. Bolton will assume the role of Board vice president in 2019, president in 2020, and followed by chairman in 2021. Bolton currently serves as vp of entertainment for SMG and was previously the regional vp for SMG’s venues in Puerto Rico and the West Coast United States as well as national director of marketing for SMG. “John has a wealth of experience as a venue professional and is a highly-respected member of our organization, making him the ideal candidate for this crucial position,” said IEBA executive director Pam Matthews.
ANDREA BOCELLI TO KICK OFF N.A. TOUR AT THE NEW CHASE CENTER
Award-winning Italian singer, songwriter and producer, Andrea Bocelli will launch the North American leg of his 2019 at the brand new Chase Center in San Francisco. The Dec. 5 performance at the future home of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors will mark Bocelli’s first time playing in San Francisco. For this performance, Bocelli will also be joined onstage by the renowned San Francisco Symphony and Chorus. “I am happy and excited to be able to contribute to the inauguration of Chase Center, the beating heart of the most exhilarating challenges in sports and music. I am doubly happy and honored, furthermore, that I get the chance to sing in front of so many friends, together with a wonderful, world-famous orchestra, which has been the ‘instrumental voice’ of San Francisco for over a century,” said Bocelli in a release.
