AL PACINO TO PLAY TENNESSEE WILLIAMS ON BROADWAY
Page Six is reporting that Al Pacino is headed to Broadway to portray writer Tennessee Williams in “God Looked Away.” The play, written by William’s close friend Dotson Rader, focuses on the playwright’s final years. Pacino will portray the writer as he struggled through alcoholism in his late years. “God Looked Away” already did a limited, sold-out run in Pasadena, California and, due to his scheduling, Pacino is only slated to take the stage for a limited run. Transparent’s Judith Light is also attached to the New York production.
OAK VIEW GROUP TO BOOK RUPP ARENA
Oak View Group has entered into a three-year agreement to exclusively book Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky. The agreement made with Lexington Center Corporation will see OVG focus on event programming with the exception of the University of Kentucky athletic events. David Farrar has been brought in as director of booking for the home of the University of Kentucky Wildcats. OVG “brings a broad range of expertise, service, and support to Rupp Arena beginning with attracting and enhancing the success of shows and in the other needs critical to our core business components. OVG is strategically the best choice as our booking partner,” said Bill Owen, Lexington Center Corp.’s president & CEO said in a release.
STEVE HOIBERG JOINS JADE PRESENTS
Jade Presents has added Steve Hoiberg to the team as a talent buyer. Hoiberg joins Jade Presents after 14 years as a talent agent with Good Music Agency in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Monterey Artists in Nashville, Tennessee. Prior to that, Hoiberg spent 12 years as owner and artist manager of SHO Artists in Nashville. “I am truly honored to be working with Jade and all the fantastic staff at Jade Presents,” said Hoiberg in a release. “It feels so good to be back home, both geographically and working with a great team in the music business.”
