BILLBOARD-HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, DICK CLARK PRODUCTIONS AND MRC MERGE TO FORM VALENCE
The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard are set to combine with Dick Clark Productions (DCP) and “House of Cards” production house MRC under a new Todd Boehly banner. The new Valence Media will also include Boehly’s minority stake in “Lady Bird” and “Moonlight” studio A24. Each of those holdings were previously owned separately by Boehly’s Eldridge Industries. Company officials announced the merger Thursday. Billboard-Hollywood Reporter president John Amato will become CEO of the division, which also houses Spin, Vibe, Death and Taxes and Stereogum. Media Rights Capital executives Asif Satchu and Modi Wiczyk will run Valence as co-CEOs. Boehly will serve as chairman.
INDUSTRY VETS LAUNCH MOTORSPORTS STRATEGY GROUP
Industry veterans Jason Rittenberry (pictured), Scott Gardner, Jenny Schmitz, and Kurt Johnson have joined together to create the new firm Motorsports Strategy Group. With experience in venues, series, sponsors and race teams, the four partners plan to focus on four disciplines of the sports and entertainment world – Strategy, Events, Production, and Venues. “Individually we all have experience with the biggest names and venues in motorsports and we all saw an opportunity to use our relationships and experience to offer a full services option to the industry,” said Managing Partner Rittenberry.
THUNDER VALLEY CASINO ADDS TO SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, California has added another six shows to its Summer Concert series booked by Billy Brill of Billy Alan Productions. The new shows include Theresa Caputo Live! The Experience on June 8, Russell Peters on June 23, Primus & Mastodon on June 30, Jim Gaffigan: The Fixer Upper on July 21, and Jo Koy on Aug. 11. The series already includes The Price is Right Live, V101 Summer Jam 2018 featuring TLC, Nelly, and Tony!Toni!Toné!, as well as comedians Dane Cook and Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias.
