AFTER FOO FIGHTERS CANCEL TWO DATES, DAVE GROHL PROMISES FANS ‘THAT’S THE LAST TIME I MAKE OUT WITH BONO’

The Foo Fighters have had to reschedule two shows on the Canadian leg of the Concrete and Gold tour: Sept. 4 in Edmonton at Rogers Place and Sept. 6 in Calgary at Scotiabank Saddledome. After opening this leg of the tour Sept.1 at Safeco Field in Seattle, Dave Grohl suffered a loss of voice and is now on vocal rest. The news comes just days after U2’s lead singer suffered a similar vocal injury midway into a show. “That’s the last time I ever make out with Bono,” Grohl joked in a press release. The new Edmonton date is now Oct. 22 and the new Calgary date is Oct. 23.

GEORGE STRAIT’S DRUMMER PASSES AWAY IN CAR ACCIDENT

George Strait’s drummer, 59-year-old Michael A. Kennedy of Baxter, Tennessee, died Friday in a car accident near Nashville. Kennedy was a member of Strait’s Ace in the Hole Band for nearly 30 years. Strait acknowledged the loss, saying “Hard to put into words how much Mike’s passing has affected us all. Our hearts are broken. It’s going to be very strange not being able to look over and see him there in his spot on stage and very emotional as well I’m sure for all of us and also his fans. The band will never be the same. A part of us is gone forever. We all loved Mike and will miss him terribly. He was just as solid a friend to us all as he was a drummer, and that was damn solid. Our hearts and prayers are with his family. The Lord has him now. Rest In Peace my friend.”
