LIVE NATION TO HIRE 28,000 AMPHITHEATER WORKERS THIS SUMMER
Live Nation is launching a job search for 28,000 employees to work at their amphitheaters for the summer. The search will fill hospitality positions across nearly 40 different cities to find music lovers who can work box office, parking, guest services, security, and maintenance. The industry giant expects to fill 18,000 of the available jobs with returning seasonal employees, leaving an additional 10,000 open for newcomers. Venues looking to hire across the nation are located in New York, New Jersey, Texas, California, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Florida, and more. TOD LEIWEKE EXITS NFL REPORTEDLY TO WORK WITH OVG IN SEATTLE
Tod Leiweke, brother of Oak View Group’s Tim Leiweke, has left the NFL where he served as COO. Tod resigned from his position last week and is reportedly returning to Seattle to help his brother bring an NHL franchise to the city. Tod led the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks from 2003-2010 and has been vocal about how Seattle is “an amazing place in sports.” Tod is rumored to be joining Oak View Group as the company renovates Seattle’s Key Arena and seeks to secure an NHL expansion team by the 2020-2021 season.
SKYPE NOW OFFERS TRIPADVISOR & STUBHUB ADD-INS
Skype has added TripAdvisor and StubHub add-ins to the app to make planning trips and nights out with contacts even easier. The TripAdvisor add-in will allow users to find hotels, restaurants, and attractions in a specified city and then share it with those in your chat. The StubHub add-in will function similarly, allowing users to look for shows in certain areas. Once a user has decided on an event, the add-in will show available tickets with prices and share it within the chat. Those in the chat can then choose seats and purchase tickets within Skype.
