TICKETFLY AND TORTUGA FESTIVAL CLOSE TO A SETTLEMENT

A fight between Ticketfly and the owner of a Ft. Lauderdale festival could be nearing a court settlement, according to a recent legal filing. Attorney John R. Jacobson is asking a Federal judge to grant a motion to continue the case saying “the parties believe they are very near to resolving their dispute by agreement.” The suit was first filed by his client Chris Stacey with Rock the Ocean and Tortuga after he received a legal threat from Ticketfly after Stacy dropped his partners at Huka Entertainment and teamed up with Live Nation for this year’s event and moved ticket sales to Front Gate. Attorneys for Ticketfly’s new owner Eventbrite threatened to sue over a signing bonus still owed the company, prompting Stacey to file a surprise lawsuit against the ticketing service.
