vendiniVendini has hired several employees from the now defunct closed down in July after 13 years and Vendini has acquired a number of the former employees in software engineering, product management and customer support. Vendini believes that keeping the passionate team together will help them create better solutions and support for the live event industry.

Crown Center Shrinks Losses, Beats Expectations

spectraThe Spectra-manager Crown Center Complex in Fayetteville, N.C., was able to reduce losses this year, beating expectations for the facility. The $2.69 million operating loss for fiscal year 2016 was less than budgeted and the county-owned complex has seen improvement since 2013 when Spectra signed a five-year contract to manage the facility. When Spectra took over, the complex was reporting over $4 million in losses, which has shrunk for the past three years.

Harry Belafonte Wants to Fix America’s Moral Compass

festivalHarry Belafonte thinks that America has lost its moral compass and wants to help it through creating a more conscientious culture. He will lead that change with a festival from Oct. 1-2 called Many Rivers to Cross held at Chattahoochee Hills Bouckaert Farm in Fairburn, Ga. The festival will promote advocacy and awareness around human rights issues with performances from Carlos Santana, Public Enemy and Dr. Cornel West.
