After 30 years on the job running the pioneering ticketing company he created, Jack Lucas is retiring from his post as President of TicketsWest. Serving in his place will be Dusty Kurtz, who’s been with TicketsWest since 2006 and is being promoted from vice president to president effective March 26.
Lucas will continue to serve as President of West Coast Entertainment, a concert promotion company serving the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii and Alaska.
“It’s a chance for me to step away from the ticketing business and totally concentrate on West Coast Entertainment,” Lucas told Amplify. “It’s a very emotional decision for me, but I know it’s time. Dusty will do a great job, and I’ve been directly mentoring him for this position for the last four years and helping him develop relationships with our clients.”
Lucas created TicketsWest in 1987 and has helped grow the Spokane, Wash. firm into a national brand and one of North America’s premiere full service/full enterprise ticketing solutions.
“To this day, I still enjoy and look forward to walking through the front door each and every day,” Lucas wrote in an email to colleagues. “But after 30 years, there comes a time when you have to pass the torch on to someone else, and let them lead and create the vision for the next 30 years.”
